Andy V Taylor Bio
I have been creating for over twenty-five years. Born in Sydney and raised by the beach, art has always been central to my life. I work primarily as an oil painter, with my work held in both national and international collections. I’ve exhibited in leading Sydney galleries and major art fairs, and my work is currently displayed at a number of respected retailers including Jagcomm Mosman, Argyle Gallery in The Rocks, Artisans Nest Newtown, and Gifts at the Quay.
In 2011, I moved abroad and lived and worked in England for several years. After returning to Australia in 2019, I established my own studio, offering collectors the opportunity to acquire fine art directly from the artist.
Art is deeply personal to me. I paint with the intention of bringing joy, drawing inspiration from beauty, colour, light, playfulness, and our shared connection to place. My style, which I describe as joy-pop, reflects this ethos—celebrating vibrancy, optimism, and emotional resonance. I hope my work brings as much joy to others as it does to me.
More recently, I’ve been expanding my practice through digital painting, exploring a new dimension of expression alongside my traditional work. Inspired by the harbour, ocean, and coastal landscapes, I enjoy creating smooth textures and intricate details while honing my technical skills and pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.
I also welcome commissions and work closely with collectors through a clear, collaborative process. A small deposit secures the commission, with open communication and a partnership approach throughout, so there are no surprises. For complete peace of mind, all commissions come with a full money-back guarantee if you don’t love the final piece—something that has never been needed, but is there to ensure confidence and security. Please note that due to demand, there may be a waiting list.
Art can be a powerful and meaningful way to celebrate life’s special moments. Whether marking romantic occasions, anniversaries, birthdays, friendships, or celebrating family, place, and shared memories, a commissioned artwork becomes a lasting symbol of connection and joy.
